Since I last posted my progress I’ve dropped two big updates for Trickster’s Table, my personal microtransaction-free and ad-free app that lets anyone play modern trick taking games against fairly competent AIs.
I implemented Torchlit, a trick taking game by David Spalinski which features his crisp art and several distinct mechanics including a forgiving bidding mechanism. Torchlit is a gem of a game and I’m glad people can try it out in my app.
I also added official art for Best of Neapolitan by Marco Jung with cute ice cream monster art by Ryo Nyamo. Best of Neapolitan is the most played game in the app and with the new themed cards I expect it to be played even more. Best of Neapolitan will be published by the Portland Game Collective. The Kickstarter campaign (link no longer available) has ended.
I’m currently working on adding Pala which is a game which uses color mixing mechanics to manipulate which cards have been played and which cards you have. It’s got perhaps the most complicated flow out of all the games I’ve added so I’m using Test Driven Development to make sure I catch all the corner cases and reduce how much manual testing I have to do if I decide to change the flow once I add a UI.
