I have been toying with the idea of writing my own blog engine in Python for a while. Yesterday I found a blog post written in a system called Weblog, checked it out and it looks like exactly what I would've written so I decided to migrate. Posts are stored in text files with very little metadata (just title, date and then a chunk of text that is interpreted with Markdown). It reminds me of blogging during a simpler time... I'm glad that I no longer have to get WYSIWYG editors to understand how I want my posts formatted now.
